Job Description: The primary responsibility of the Customer Service Solutions Field / Call Center Support Engineer is to provide direct technical support to Harris Broadcast products at customer sites as well as call center telephone support when assigned to be in the office. · Review and implement system/workflow designs, assess “out of box” quality of delivered products, coordinate logistics of replacement parts as needed with theHarrisCallCenterto ensure a timely and successful closure of assigned jobs, and provide follow up documentation at the completion of the job. This documentation will include commissioning reports, bug tracking entries, quality and expense reports. Will also interact with representatives from Sales, Engineering, System Integrators and other Service elements to address issues to help drive jobs to success. · Focus on broadcast products to include: video servers, non-linear news editing, video and audio routers, master control systems, video graphics systems, networking solutions, and modular infrastructure equipment.. · Provide on-site field support as part of a team in the form of product/system commissioning, trouble-shooting and inventory audits as part of large system projects that may span multiple weeks. · May represent Service group on cross-functional development teams. · Provide technical support and/or training on specific broadcast products identified above in the installation, “go live” and post launch support environments. · Provide documentation regarding product quality, assigned job analysis, bug tracking entry, and expense reporting in a timely manner. · ProvideCallCentertelephone support as assigned while performing administrative duties in the office. · Provide customer consulting assistance on workflow, design, alternative approaches, system interfaces and application of the system. Research information utilizing internal and external resources. · Successfully manage a moderate to heavy workload requiring technical and practical knowledge; utilize insight; good judgment; good interpersonal and time management skills on assigned jobs of varying levels of difficulty · Act as interface between Customer, Service, Project Management, Sales and Engineering addressing all key activities and/or issues relevant to the job assigned. · Attend internal training as assigned to gain knowledge of the Harris/Leitch product lines to support system design and installation. · Utilize Service and Engineering resources to facilitate replicating issues and monitor issue resolution. · Provide "field" information regarding quality of design, interoperability issues, · Coordinate job acceptance and gain sign off with Customer, Sales and/or other key groups. · Act as a positive contributing member of a team reporting to a Harris Project Manager when assigned to larger projects. * May provide operational and maintenance training to customers and system integrators as assigned. * Proactive to maximize efficiency of customer service. Must think proactively so we avoid issues. * Seek clarification to ensure that customer needs are clearly defined. * Focusing on providing efficient and reliable service to internal and/or external clients. * Develops and effectively applies communication skills to build and maintain relationships, and to influence the actions or behaviors of others by interpreting and communicating technical or functional information in a “user friendly” manner. * Solve problems using independent thinking to adapt known methods or techniques based on previous experience and/or technical expertise. · This position requires intensive travel up to 80%% and potential work on weekend and/or Federal Holidays. Depending on the particular job, non-first shift working hours may also be require · Must have a valid passport and no restrictions from international travel.

Qualifications: * Required: Technical degree or equivalent experience in Broadcast, Networking, and Systems Integration. * 5+ years experience in a broadcast engineering role. * 2+ years experience in design engineering roles (QA, systems design) * 5+ years experience working in broadcast industry. * 5+ years designing broadcast systems and/or system integration. * Possesses technical knowledge including SD and HD video standards. * Possesses trouble-shooting/diagnostics skills. * Ability to understand failure mechanisms of complex electronic systems with mechanical, electrical and software interactions * Possesses knowledge of PC hardware, Windows, networking protocols and/or telephony * Must be available for up to 80%% travel within theUSandCanada; other international travel may be required. * Exceptional organizational skills, methodical in a multi-tasked environment. * Requires strong written and oral communication skills and customer relationship management * Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to reliably meet commitments. * Team player that can work well with cross-functional teams * Ability to work under stressful/fast pace conditions.

Preferred Additional Skills: * Knowledge of NRCS and MOS components are a plus * Knowledge of additional external vendor products a plus.
