Chemist uslo-00005045 Chemist/Biochemist 012 - Clark Mfg Clark NJ FUNCTION: LOREAL USA is looking for a IC Chemist for its Clark, NJ Manufacturing facility. You must be able to work third shift, Sunday - Thursday, 11 pm - 7 pm. Accurately test raw materials or bulk finished goods, using advanced qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis such as gas chromatography, infra-red spetroscopy (FTIR), wet chemistry analysis, separation analysis, distillation techniques, etc. to insure compliance with established LOREAL standards. Analyze test data and decide the release of raw materials or bulk product into the mfg or packaging processes. Utilize professional judgement to decide proper resolution of out of specification issues such as, release of non-standard material or product based on historical trends, re-mix and resample bulk batches, chemical adjustment of material, high speed sheer mix of product, etc. Provide direction, guidance, and assistance to the Processing department for the resolution of out of specification issues. Interact effectively with Processing and packaging departments and with chemists, senior chemists or other employees on adjacent shifts. Maintain appropriate records and complete necessary reports in a timely manner. Maintain a safe, clean work environment and implement LOREAL environmental programs. REQUIREMENTS: Support production activity by accurately testing raw materials or bulk finished goods product, in a timely manner, per established LOREAL and ISO standards, and evaluate data to decide release of raw material or bulk product for use in the manufacturing processes Two years experience with a Chemistry degree
