Description: |My Career Center|View Job Cart| Chemist - Analytical (Metals) PRSM-005864 Scientist 5060 - Corporate R & D Clark NJ FUNCTION: Responsible for analyses of samples submitted to Analytical R&D from formulators, demi-grand, manufacturing, etc. Follows written procedures. 1. Under minimum guidance, provides prompt analyses related to metals. 2. Evaluates new test procedures and instrumentation, contributing to preparation of Standard Operating Procedures involving Metals Analysis. 3. Maintains a complete and accurate notebook. 4. Keeps supervisor apprised of any problematic assays and offers solutions. 5. Responsible for routine maintenance of instruments involved in metals analysis. 6. Provides guidance to less experienced chemists. 7. Addresses appropriate duties, tasks and projects, as assigned REQUIREMENTS: 1. Bachelors degree in chemistry with two or more years of experience, ideally in the analytical chemistry of consumer or personal care products. Masters degree preferred. 2. Competent in basic analyses involving metals, such ICP, ICP-MS, AA, X-Ray Fluorescence, etc. Background or experience with other instrumental methods of analysis highly desirable. 3. Able to follow written instructions. Pragmatic, task oriented with desire to apply knowledge in the laboratory. 4. Maintains a drive to overcome difficulties and to bring an analysis/project to a successful conclusion. Basic knowledge of the cosmetics industry and the role of analytical chemistry in the industry. 5. Authorization to work in the US on an on-going basis
