Description: Manager of Graphics Management Posting Period: 07/09/2008 To 08/30/2008 Business: Consumer Packaging Group Location: Carlstadt,NJ Job Group: 1st/Mid Level Officials & Mgrs Area of Interest: IT/Information Management FLSA: Exempt Relocation Paid: Yes Description: The Manager of Graphics Management for Shorewood Packaging is responsible for steering and reviewing all technology and operational service delivery associated with graphic assets. In addition, this position has the responsibility to provide direction of new media product offerings and solutions including the conversion of analog materials, the architecture of digital asset management systems and the production of new digital assets. The Manager of Graphics Management along with the Technical Systems Administrator is responsible for providing and maintaining the Shorewood business with a highly available, high performance, stable, secure and recoverable environment for running the CSS Graphics suite applications and other ancillary applications. This position reports to the Senior Director of IT.

This position covers the administration of 15+ servers locally. It involves the maintenance of 5+ database instances and 25-30 associated applications. In addition, support of the remote plant connected servers and storage for the graphics applications. Essentially this means the administration and maintenance of all graphics applications, server and storage infrastructure that supports Shorewoods business (~ 500 users and ~$650 million dollars annual revenue). This position will interface with corporate IT for telecom requirements and will require a working knowledge of digital networking including cisco routers, private networking, internet services, and firewalls. This position will, along with the Technical Systems Administrator, shares responsibility for 7x24 support of the Graphics Management Platform applications and related support systems. In addition, this position will have budgeting or personnel reporting responsibilities.

Key accountabilities for this position include providing technical expertise and day to day management for the Graphics Management Platform. This position is responsible for researching, soliciting, and forging partnership relationships for SDCs graphics management offerings. This role is accountable for working collaboratively across department to secure buy-in and resolution, training and sharing knowledge on key projects and product management and is considered the Subject Matter Expert in supporting the Sales and Marketing teams. The responsibility for Interfacing with vendors and internal divisions while maintaining a highly available, high performance environment for CSS Graphics Applications is a key to success.

Staying current with new and emerging technologies, the markets, and the competition is a key challenge for this position. In addition start up issues relating to new software installation and platforms may prove challenging. Other challenges may include maintaining user satisfaction by providing high performance & high availability of systems, supporting remote applications, coordinating with vendors for hardware & software support, and keeping database and applications environment current & functional via patch management and firmware/software upgrades.

A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience is required. Five years of IT work experience is required. IT work experience in a prepress work environment with pre- press applications would be a plus. A qualified candidate for this position should have knowledge and experience with digital asset management, project management, capacity planning, along with 4D databases and Microsoft operating systems. Knowledge of Wide Area Network (Savvis desirable). The ideal candidate for this position is a highly organized and self-directed individual with a strong sense of internal motivation, strategy, and leadership.
