...there were large ethical and public interest issues and that these should be referred for debate." The Cornell team, led by Nikica Zaninovic, used a virus to add a gene, a green fluorescent protein, to an embryo left over from in vitro fertilisation. The research was presented at a meeting of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine last year but details have emerged only after the...

Dear Fly Community, Do you know of any fly vectors or lines containing a membrane-bound fluorescent reporter (e.g. DsRed) that isn't GFP? It'd be great if it was driven by UAS, but I can always clone it into pUAST. Thanks. -- Shaad M. Hello Ladies and Gentlemen. Do any of you cats have experience with the Tek Light T5 Fluorescents??? I'm wondering if they are as great as portrayed by the manufacturer and also how much heat they really shed. All things considered, if a person was using a 150 Watt HPS and decided to change to a 400 Watt T5, would the T5 ballast heat the room more, less, or about the same as the HPS....

... this thing work? 2. Do you know a cheap source for a stereomicroscope with fluorescence? It doesn't have to be a very high quality, as it would be used... out GFP embryos/larvae, and afterwards the specimens can be easily checked on a fluorescent microscope. I would be grateful for any advice, Slawek Bartoszewski. **************************************** Slawomir Bartoszewski Rzeszow ...

... expression. The project involves the biosynthesis of large fragments of a G protein receptor from yeast, the isotopic labeling of these fragments and the reconstitution of the protein for spectroscopic (CD, fluorescence, high resolution NMR)evaluation. The goal of the research is to determine the structure of domains of the receptor in the context of the entire receptor. Other Duties: The major ...
