What would happen if some event occurred which destroyed modern
civilization and (or even if only) cut the lines of communication even
on a local level, so that there was no internet, no telephones, no
mail service (at least for a while).
Would Zen die... or survive?
How would Zen change during this time?
I am requesting a 1,000 word essay. If at least three essays are
submitted, then I will offer to buy the one I like the most for $100
US in prize money. Naturally you should all post your essays here so
we all know when at least three have been submitted.

Of course Zen would survive, and it would change no more than
it has ever changed. Zen is not particularly Buddhist, or even
terrestrial, for that matter. All the religions of the world use
different...

if ? it's a more likely scenario
that several different civilization
destroying outcomes are looming
large on the horizon as we speak.

oops, no sports scores on
the cellphone. whatever
shall we do ?

zen isn't alive but that by which
zen proliferates is there in that
prior most principle anyway and
is not civilization dependent.

I don't know, but if you write an essay about it you might just get
paid $100.
That means you are making your survival in a cause related to your
beliefs, instead of whatever job you hold.

mice in the pocket is not something to
be taken so casually.

I'm not a mind reader, ^@%%>---*=#.

Well then maybe you'd better do something about it? For example if you
write an essay about it, you could be paid $100! Just think about what
would have happened if you had invested that $100 in Lion Mining
before the gold boom in the 70s. Why, you would have made a half a
million dollars! We should talk.
