Hi
We are thinking of filming a short "how it works" video clip and
putting up on our website.
The idea is to explain how our (rather complex) business model works.
We are total newbies and have never done videos before and don't
really know where to start.
The idea would be start with a simple talking head explaining how it
all
works - and then later we may need something more sophisticated.
It obviously would need to be quite short in length (1-2 minutes)
Any post-processing advise on:
- Best video editing software - ("Final Cut Pro" ??)
- Where to host (could we just embed a youtube clip?)
- What about compression? (or does youtube do that for you?)
- What pixel dimensions should we use for the final output?
- And what about lighting? Our offices have rather small window.
Should we buy special light-bulbs? Or realistically should we bite
the bullet and buy special lights - if so which ones?

Hi all,
A client of mine has a website with a .ac.uk domain.
They claim that .ac.uk domains can't be hosted just anywhere, but have
to be on a .ac.uk host.
Can any of the UK webmasters here confirm or deny that? I can't seem
to find any information about it through Google. The only thing I
found, is that the domains are registered with Janet, but nothing
about the actual hosting.
Thanks.

To Americans:
What can a web publisher declare as expenses on
the IRS's Schedule C? This is the net profit from
business form. For instance, what about
web hosting, computer equipment and the like?
Thanks.

Hey Everyone,
I've setup a domain on freedns.afraid.org for testing, and it appears
to be very simple to use and work quite well. Does anyone have
experience with it? I'm looking to host some of my domains (non-
commercial) on my home cablemodem, and I'm thinking of using these
guys to do my DNS.
Just curious

Hi all,
I've just had someone saying this webpage is all messed up,
http://www.uk-conference-venues.co.uk/
I've tested it in IE, FF and Opera and can't find any problem.
Can someone have a look and see if it is messed up for them.
Many thanks.
