  htaccess redirect problem

Author: dieter mueller
Date: Feb 28, 2007 10:41

I've just tried to add a simple redirect in my htaccess:

Redirect / http://www.somedomain.com/blog/

But it does a recursive (somehow) redirect ... after a few seconds,
the URL in my browser changes to http://www.somedomain.com/blog/blog/blog/blog/blog/blog/
........

Why?
Thanks!

I am looking for a (cheap) host offering dedicated linux server space
with servlet engine, preferibly Tomcat (at least version 5) and if
possible root shell in case we need access to libraries.

Can anybody help?

Thanks,

ROTFL!

That's almost as good as the five-pound hammer virus joke!

Don't.

This is a terrible idea. It wasn't a good idea back in 1997, it's a
bad idea nowadays for desktop browsers. For a site like this, which
might reasonably expect mobile devices to be a significant market for
it, then it's terrible.

Start again, without the tables and without the image slicing.

And if you won't listen to this, at least learn about valid code. It's
a basic starting point for useful consistency between browsers.
