Yes...
All of which goes to prove that Canadians...
Still have an...
IDENTITY CRISIS...
Because Canadians did not have to FIGHT and DIE for their Independence.
There was no 18th Century...
CANADIAN REVOLUTION...
Or...
CANADIAN WAR OF INDEPENDENCE.

Clearly, Chaplin, like many Canadians, is having an:
IDENTITY CRISIS...
Of his own.
It's an Existential State for the majority of Canadians, who are sleeping
with the elephant next door to the South.
They wonder a lot about:
"Who are we Canadians?"

Hilarious!
Britain had the sobering, concrete example of the American Revolution and
War of Independence in mind if she did not yield to Canada's PARTIAL
SEPARATION in 1867 -- but with a new umbilical still in place.
Canadians were able to piggyback on American successes vis a vis Britain.
American National Character has been formed and tempered in the fiery
crucible of our American Revolution and our War of Independence as well as
in our Civil War.
So there is no doubt the American National Character has been more tested,
hardened, cured and has therefore developed far better leadership skills,
piercing intelligence and tough grit than the weak, flaccid, irresolute,
"What Me Care?", "Who Are We?" Canadian National Character.

They hug, crowd, and converge on the U.S. border, like moths on a
bulb. More than 90%% of Canadians live within 100 miles of the U.S
border, I believe.
The sign of a people who went too far North, froze their assess and
the door closed before they could make it back to the warmth. .
Cool.

Of course the denizens of Vancouver benefit
from the warm pacific currents, and gentle
warming zephyrs blown over from Oz and
Hawaii.

Great city Vancouver. I've had tons of fun there...
Unpardonably rough local smoked salmon, though. With so many Scots
there you would think Vancouver's smoked salmon would better.
To anyone who grew up on the Scottish variety, that is. Even
Norwegians do better.
