Maglev compared to planes or trains?
A day and a half trip train (Maglev) from Los Angeles to New York may be
compatible with airline travel. Providing they supply everyone with a
comfortable bed.

If you really like the idea of nationalizing the oil industry take a
firm look at Mexico and Pemex, their nationalized oil company. 140,000
employees, $42 B in debt, no new exploration, production dropping from
4.5 bb/d to 3.71 bb/d. Mexico exists because Pemex has been a piggy
bank since the 1940s.
