"It's impossible for the narco to succeed without the help of the
police. The success that the narco has been having is because of the
police."
-- Rommel Moreno Manjarrez, Attorney General, Baja California
lot of U.S. citizens think that Bush's two failed wars, in Iraq and
Afghanistan, are worrisome, at least. Sinfully expensive, morally
wrong, no place for young men.
But most adults in this country REFUSE to believe or acknowledge that
the U.S.'s most threatening and dangerous war is taking place in
neighboring Mexico -- and IN the United States.
It's the "DRUG WAR," in which the Mexican "federal government," state
governments, and local governments are not only held hostage by the
militarily superior drug cartels, but also by the POLICE DEPARTMENTS
at each level. Because the drug empires and the police in always
lawless Mexico are partners in murder.
It is a collection of chilling stories of a nation in chaos, whose
drug trafficking is fueled and sustained by -- that's right -- the
runaway American drug market.
