Unit Rosters: Collect them now or cry later

Unit Rosters: Collect them now or cry later
http://www.amervets.com/mypride/unitrost.htm

Many veterans who served in prior wars deeply regret that they failed to collect
the names and hometowns of the men and women they served with. These contacts
are invaluable in later years to substantiate VA medical/disability claims,
obtain historical information or form unit associations for reunions.

Military personnel on active duty today should begin immediately to collect the
names, addresses or hometowns of the men and women in their unit. Unit rosters
can be collected by asking your HQ admin specialist for a copy of any Morning
Report or Daily Personnel list. Home addresses or towns can be added to each
name simply by passing the list around to each member of the unit. Or, a unit
roster can be created simply by passing a several sheets of paper around each
member of the unit with the request they list their name and locator info.

After obtaining unit rosters they should be copied, if possible, and mailed to
several family members at home for safekeeping. Lists can also be mailed to The
War Library for preservation and later retrieval at no cost to the list owner.

The most important thing any unit member can do to ensure they can later obtain
information, witnesses or future contacts with the people they serve with is to
collect unit rosters today.

Al Qaeda suspected of Pakistan's Marriott bombing
Sun Sep 21, 2008

* U.S., Pakistani intelligence suspect al Qaeda

* Death toll at 53, includes Czech ambassador

* Pakistani prime minister sees threat to democracy

* Some expatriates consider leaving

By Aftab Borka

ISLAMABAD, Sept 21 (Reuters) - A suicide bomb attack that killed 53
people at the Marriott Hotel in Pakistan's capital bore the hallmarks
of an operation by al Qaeda or an affiliate, Pakistani and U.S.
intelligence officials said on Sunday.

Teams combing the burnt shell of the hotel found more charred bodies
after the blast on Saturday evening ignited a blaze that swept through
the hotel, part of a U.S.-based chain and a favourite haunt of
diplomats and wealthy Pakistanis.

Internal security in nuclear-armed Pakistan, a country vital to the
war against al Qaeda and other Islamist militant groups, has
deteriorated alarmingly over the past two years.

Sarah Palin and the Rapture
By RAYMOND J. LAWRENCE

21/09/08 "Counterpunch" -- Is this country ready for a president who is
excited about and eagerly looking forward to the Rapture?

The Rapture, as it is called, is the imaginary day when Jesus will come down
from the sky and lift up into heaven all those who are saved, leaving behind
all unbelievers to destruction and death?

Anyone who believes in the Rapture scenario will likely interpret a
catastrophic nuclear exchange as the opening scene of the Rapture. Thus an
American president who believes in the Rapture would arguably have at least
some ambivalence toward a nuclear holocaust. A believer in the Rapture with
his or her fingers on the nuclear trigger might even be tempted to bring on
the Rapture. The Rapture, for those who believe in it, is hardly a negative
event. Rather it is culmination of everything they hope for, deliverance
into the heavenly arms of Jesus.

Presumably Sarah Palin believes in the Rapture. It is one of the doctrines
of her religion, and she has nowhere disavowed it. Are Americans ready to
sleep at night with a President who longs for the Rapture?

Bush Bankrupts America. Impeach Now!

Many were skeptical that the criminal creeps in the White House could
actually bankrupt the entire United States of America in a mere 8
years, and yet here we are, staring into the abyss of that "Mission
Accomplished" right now. And deliberately lying the American people
into a counterproductive and illegal two trillion dollar war was just
another day's treason for those occupants.

Now, even WE do not expect action on impeachment this particular
week. Congress is too preoccupied scrambling to try to salvage the
disaster that has become our economy because of 8 years of corrupt
Republicans hell bent on deregulation, and EQUALLY corrupt Democrats
too cowardly to stop them, even when they had the actual power to do
so. And unfortunately, the plan they are likely to present to us
before the end of the weekend as a fait accompli looks like it will
be the biggest theft from the American taxpayer in history.
