usenet is not chat rooms. It is more like a listserve but it is what
the old bbs evolved into.

Sometimes, people don't know that they are posting to
usenet/newsgroups, because they are using a website to post. I post
using my browser. Others post using their specialized newsreaders.

Just for fun I ran your name in usenet, and it sure does look like

But it is ok...I was having fun this morning torturing people about the
Chinese year of the Carp not properly interfacing with the Age of
Aquarius.

Do the promotion, it will be worth it in the long run

Creativity is what you do to decompress. You will keep writing wedding
planner poetry. I will keep writing annoying messages on Usenet
