That's a semi-pro Alesis ADAT recorder...8 tracks to ADAT digital
tape. These machines are used for "garage band" and bar band
production and a lot of other low-buck multitracking applications. For
the money, they're pretty decent machines...not very long lived, but
sonically competent. No, ADAT has ZERO to do with consumer 8 track
cartridges at all; it's far superior.

Capital idea! Perhaps we could interest one of the kOOkophile over
there to study Noodles and then dig and pry into his horrific
life...although we've unearthed plenty about "Noodles" here already.
