I am not black. but what inspires me as a young white CIA agent is the fact that
Coleman never left govt service. What is now public knowledge, he established a
private business as a CIA front to continue his UC work for CIA. As I look at
his picture of patriotism, which I believe is a lot more servicibly patriotic
than Valerie Plame and her husband -- Mr. and Mrs. Publicity Hounds -- have
achieved, I believe that true success comes not from being personally
vindicated, but comes from making America safer and more prosperous in ways that
only historic revelation and declassified disclosure will report.
Ambassador Joe Wilson -- Plame's husband -- also used the New York Times. But
Ambassador Wilson's 2003 NYT Times "datestamp" editorial backfired and failed to
achieve its primary goal -- preventing the invasion of Iraq -- whereas Coleman's
1988 NYT "datestamp" helped to create an private company that, to this day,
continues to provide patriotic, constructive and policy-changing/improvement
service to our country.
