I'm oft reminded of a German Citizen whom I discussed with the
possibility of forms of life.

He had this device, that detected cosmic radiation levels. Looked
like a heavy, calculator, only bigger.
The device was of course embedded with a shielding, that could produce
gamma bursts upon detection; should the need for self-protection
arise.

I last saw him in 1993, in my home town. Along a road side, with his
instrument. Aimed. Disappeared...I guess I'll never see him again...
