Ah, but Clayton was NOT the only one to play the Ranger, though to me,
Clayton IS the Ranger, period. In season three, John Hart replaced
Clayton as the Lone Ranger. His portrayal is considered far inferior
and wooden. In Clayton's autobiography "I Was That Masked Man" he does
not have a definitive answer for why he was replaced, nor does he say
anything derogatory towards Hart. Still, there is only one Lone Ranger
;)

And there was a feature film, the one I mentioned in my earlier post.
I forget the title, maybe "The Legend Of The Lone Ranger" or something
like that. Total turkey; and yes, during the period of release Clayton
wore oversized sunglasses and still did personal appearances.
Eventually he was allowed to wear the mask again.

And regarding the other post about "The Avengers", well Patrick MacNee
did a fine job in post Avengers performances, still looking dashing,
if older. Diana Rigg (who left to persue a more serious Shakespearian
career) has hosted "Mystery" on PBS and looks great, even though
beyond the days of the luscious jumpsuits. Wheelchairs? NOT. At least
now even now. As for Linda Thorson (Tara King) I haven't seen her in
anything lately, can't truly comment. I do recall hearing that the
re-make movie sucked big time.

For Bond...well, I'm of the Sean Connery fandom, though I think Pierce
and Timothy were superb (I haven't seen the recent "Casino Royale").
Roger got too comical for my tastes. Yet did I accept someone in
Sean's role? Yeah, but in the Xena/Gabrielle world we have lived
through 132 episodes (if I counted correctly) and there's a tighter
connection to the characters (to me, at least) than in a movie once
every few years.

It was many years before anyone tried Superman after the George Reeves
portrayal of the 1950s, and yet to a younger generation Chris Reeve is
the Man (of steel); and I'm not knocking Chris one bit (though I am
partial to George's harder portrayal of Kent than Chris' more bumbling
approach). There's yeas/nays on the "Superman Returns" version, so not
everyone has accepted a new Kryptonian in Brandon....yet, at least.
And Batman...well, we have had a few and they are all meritable
(though let's not get into the buffoonery of the 1960s version).

Anyway, blah blah woof woof. LL is Xena, ROC is Gabrielle. If there's
a movie in 2144 in super HD 4 dimensional holodeck widescreen....OK,
whatever, I'll be assimilated by the Borg by then. :p
