I couldn't quite figure out what her role was supposed to be. At
first I thought maybe she was having an affair with the professor, but
that didn't happen. Then I thought maybe Ava would think she was
sleeping with him and get jealous but that didn't happen either. I
agree she did a good job in the role but there wasn't much purpose in
her character.
Maybe they wanted another student besides the chubby guy? Needed a gal with good abs since
it wouldn't be in Renee's character? She's a "Good Friend" of the director/producer/PTB?

LOL!

I thought the same thing! Kinda like the Destroyer in A Family
Affair.
To me the funniest part (not intended to be funny) was when Ava said
"gentle" as she was opening the jar. It reminded me of the scene in
AFA where Hope is checking over the monster to see if Xena managed to
cut it. I'm pretty sure she used that same gentle line then. The
tone of voice was definitely the same. LOL!
I KNEW that sounded familiar somehow, but didn't dwell on it.
Overall though the movie was a really bad remake of Raiders of the
Lost Ark.
Sci-fi channel isn't known for it's high quality TV movies. But I understand they do draw
in the viewers (maybe hoping THIS time this one will be a winner?).
