Get great reception on my new tv using attic antenna (digital channels 2
thru13/ live 13 miles from Manhattan).
Uhf reception, with bow tie, is only mediocre. Hoping this will improve
after Fer.
Meanwhile, can anyone reccommend a good ,small UHF antenna for indoors?

I haven't been able to commit to Dish or Direct Tv. Will the prices
go down "if" they do the switch over?
I have also heard it will be a "long time" before they finally do the
switch.

720P files will scramble the picture occasionally. It doesn't seem to
be much different on my 800Mhz laptop or my 3.3G desktop.
Are there ways to improve this, or is an upgrade necessary?

Hi,
In my previous posts, I asked about HDMI cables and LCD TV's. Someone
(UCLAN), made reference to needing different cabling for 1080P units...
Please provide more details on this point.

peter

Hello,
I am in an apartment that has a 44" wide space for a TV. The space can
be 46" with the TV at an angle. Seating will be about 5' from the TV.
I would like to spend $1,000 or so on a new flat panel HDTV.
Would I be better off with an LCD or Plasma? Can you recommend some
models that might be good? What's the best place to read reviews?
Thanks a lot,
Bob

Hello. I have my regular (non-upconverting) DVD player connected to my
new LCD HDTV (Sony 32" KDL-32L4000 ) via an S-Video cable. When I play
certain DVDs the picture is noisy with what appear to be slight red
and green horizontal bars. There is no rhyme or reason to which DVDs
the bars appear in, both older and brand new releases. Any ideas how
to remedy this situation?

In Pahrump, NV, a small town outside Las Vegas, our 3 local stations
are low power and have said that they will not be converting in
February 2009 and have no definite plans to convert. I watch
channel 62 every day, and they have said nothing about switching
frequency.

I have an HDMI capable TV,but I use an *OLD* Pioneer A/V deck to
interconnect all my video and audio interconnects to it.Since it was
made in 1988
it does not have any HDMI connections as that tech did not exist then.It
has 6 video input connections and 5 audio connections for peripheral
devices.Someday,I may upgrade, but right now I do not have the
inclination to undo all these wires and port connections in the back
that are very numerable.
So,for people like me that STILL use old tech, those component cables
and standard audio connects will have to do.Besides,I really do not want
to afford another $1100 for a similar deck right now.

Hi.
I am considering a 50"+ TV in a south facing room (32' x 15') with a 16'
shed roof with basically a wall of glass on the south and a row of 5
"light" windows along the upper north wall.
I think a plasma would not be a good fit due to the amount of light the
room get, so I a looking at LCD's. Am I correct in thinking a 1080p
unit with a refresh rate of 120 would be my best choice?
tia,
peter
