No eating disgusting things challenges

I noticed there were no challenges where they had to eat digusting
things. I recall in Africa they had to drink blood directly out of a
cow, and I also remember a task in an early season that involved eating
giant slugs or something.

Have they dropped those challenges in recent seasons?

it seems so. They are GREAT equalizers. Those who want to win bad enough can do it.
No strength or brains required. Just guts!

Speaking of this, I had an idea for the food auction. I call it a
reverse auction. Jeff Probst would be the one that does the bidding.
First he brings out a very delicious meal. Then he says something like
"You have to eat 5 beatles to get this meal. Do I have any takers?" The
first person that raises their hand gets it, as long as they eat the
bugs first. If there's no takers, Jeff reduces the bid to 4 beatles,
and it keeps going like that.

well, reducing the bid idea, would only work once. Since on the second
item anyone with a brain would know to hold out until he started
dropping the stakes.

Better to run it as a regular auction: "Adumb will eat 5 beatles for
the pizza, do I hear 6?"

But maybe better to auction off non-food items, like blankets, pillows,
firestarters and tools. Who want to arrive at their pizza nauseated?

Besides, tools would be group items and another chance to separate the
team players from the slackers. That's a hell of a way to step up,
eating something gross to get the tribe a blanket.

S2: the mangrove worm that Kimmi ate to win that Challenge.

No, they still do them occasionally. Not often.
Remember the balut-eating Challenge in S10, in which Bobby Jon tried to
stuff all the baluts in his mouth at once and failed, whereas Tom
Westman ate them one at a time and won?

Probably Survivor doesn't do the food Challenges as much anymore because
Fear Factor and Amazing Race covered that field so well.

There was no food challenge in Vanuatu. However, when
Chris-Chad-Ami-Eliza won a reward to a local celebration, they noticed
the feast they partaked in was local cuisine they had trouble
stomaching. Ami mentioned is was barely cooked meat right off the
animal's hide.

Palau had one, I recall the balut among other things. Tom/Ian vs.
Steph/Bobby Jon.

Guatemala? I'm stumped.

Exile Island? Not 100%% but nothing is coming to mind yet. I'm trying
to picture Cirie eating something nasty and I can't get a mental image.

None in Cook Islands.

And they didn't have the traditional challenge where they knock other
players out one by one (by cutting ropes or breaking pottery), which
is usually played very stupidly and reveals alliances and pecking
orders.
