During the Stargate: Atlantis series, I suggested that the Wraith farm
humans to increase their food supply. "Childhood's End" features a
planet that was a Wraith people farm. However, the people of the planet
made themselves unattractive as Wraith food by committing suicide the
moment they turn 25. I find it amazing that humans under the age of 25
don't make good food for the Wraith!

I generally agree, especially about the bad placement.
The good news is that there is at least some logic to it, by which I mean it
ultimately sets the stage for the following finale, although the two
episodes are completely unrelated for the most part.
I'd have preferred the far-better S05E20 to be a two-part cliffhanger.
There were enough good ideas in the finale for a two-hour swan-song.
Although I rate S05E19 about like you do, I have to concede it was stylish,
different, innovative and just plain pretty to look at. But it was so
different as to be a jarring bump in the general continuity of the show.

BBC entertainment reporter Colin Paterson mentions to Doctor Who
Executive Producer Russell T Davies that Robert Carlyle can't be the new
Doctor who because of his casting in a "big scifi show in the states",
and Davies blurts out:
"Stargate? Can you believe it? That was a surprise. Has his agent
watched it?"
