Shame on the writers for making the best actor/character in the show
speak that god awful, cliche filled dialogue at the end of the ep. He
babbles a half dozen Supe staples, which in my mind finally dragged him down
to everyone elses level. Also instead of keeping up with his ever steady
leaning over to the dark side, he actually thinks he's saving the world!
Can't they make up their minds about anyone on this show? Clark is an idiot,
Chloe is totally insipid, Jimmy is a fool then James Bond, Kara is one week
good & 1 bad, Lois is dumb then all of a sudden an ace reporter. Can't wait
for next season!

He's playing Lex Luthor. His character is *suppose* to speak that
"god awful, cliche filled dialogue".
And Lex Luther is *suppose* to think "he's saving the world". In the
comic books, whenever a writer wants to portray a sympathetic version
of businessman Lex, that's the angle they usually approach it from.
(Mad scientist Lex is a different story, though...)

And why did Chloe and Clark suddenly trash Kara's character in this
episode. That was not cool at all.

She works for Lex, and the only way he can think to throw her off the
North Pole track is to bring Jimmy in on his scheme? He can't plant the
evidence for her to find, or assign her to cover a fashion show in Terra
Del Fuego?
What's more, why does he CARE? He's sending teams to the North Pole to
try and stop an alien invasion and save the world. Obviously the evil
aliens know what he's up to. So TELL Lois. Let her COVER the damn
story.

Hopefully the dementia will spread and they will all forget to do season 8.
