A torrent's something like a zip file--but for huge collections of
things like entire discographies of a certain band or an entire season
of a TV show. Example: Say you were a totally broke college student who
would definetly buy an entire season of SCTV when financially able, but
wanna watch them now. You could download a torrent file of, say,
Network 90 volume 3, open the file with a special torrent extractor
program, et voila--hours of fun at your broke-ass, collegiate disposal
right on your computer.
I, er, not that I'm condoning that kind of thing. 'sides, mine are all
X Files torrents.
...I mean, my hypothetical torrents. Don't sue.
