A local channel runs Bonanza in the afternoons. I was taken aback
today by the startling look of a very familiar Rockford face. It was
Joan Van Ark with two significant differences: she had REAL eye brows,
and her mane wasn't drenched in platinum blond hair dye. That's why it
took me by surprise, because I'd never seen the lady without the
circus clown cosmetics, or at that young an age.

Considering how naturally beautiful she was in her 20's, I can't
figure why she would later opt for a goofy pluck job that would
compromise such complimentary facial features. Of course, that was
then, and there is no changing of the present. It's just that I never
knew she had a Bonanza credit, nor had the chance to enjoy Joan Van
Ark in a more youthful state of unfettered loveliness.
