I can't imagine why. I mean, to each his own, but Garner had morphed
into such a slovenly pile of apathy by the sixth season, just reading
through this list of episodes makes me want to Bacall into an airsick
bag.

I was thinking that I'd buy a Season 6 DVD box set just to get "Paradise
Cove", which to me is a quintessential "Rockford" ep. It's one of the eps
you show to someone when introducing them to "Rockford" for the first time
as it has all the elements . . . a good story, good humor, and good
characters. Heck, CC Calloway alone makes this one worth watching.

Hopefully, Universal would provide some nice extras to make up for the
abbreviated number of episodes in this shortened season, but even if they
didn't I'd buy it anyway. Why have the first 5 seasons and not the 6th,
especially if you're wanting to have the full catalogue?

But I'm sure they'll release it, since they have already released the first
5 seasons. They are probably still figuring out what extras they could add
to make up for the smaller number of episodes.

"Only Rock 'n' Roll Will Never Die" had its moments. It probably needed a
bit of an edit to make it tighter, but then again it was an extended ep and
they were looking to fill time to some extent.

"The Hawaiian Headache" was a very good ep, I thought. Any ep with Ken
Swofford in it was a good one.

Actually, that's an excellent point. By the time they got around to
the final season, the supporting cast had become the center of
attention ... probably because even the producers knew that Garner had
lost his effectiveness as the dashing lead character. Thing is, Pravda
makes a great argument for a couple of the episodes, but it was the
pitiful condition of Jim Rockford I couldn't stand.

I must have cut "Paradise Cove" from the epguides list (sorry).

One of the best scenes in Paradise Cove is CC Calloway playing the audio
tape for the home owners group of Jim's "adventures in the Cove and the
first two gunshots are heard. Jimmy makes a shooting motion with his finger
indicating there should be a third shot, which comes milliseconds later on
the tape. That is what TRF's is all about!

Yes, this is one of the funniest and most memorable scenes of the whole
series.

Don't forget CC's recording of the bomb going off and him saying "I'm sure
we all remember the time someone put a bomb under Rockford's trailer".

Oops, I meant to say "put a couple sticks of dynamite under Rockford's
trailer".
