Just finished the Year Five DVD set, and overall -- in comparison to
the first four seasons -- a pretty dreary collection, IMHO. No Beth,
minimal Angel(why?), and half the episodes are clinkers: "Empty
Frame"(Berkeley revolutionaries hijacking a Pacific Palisades art
collection? In 1978? Weren't the writers aware of Prop 13, or the
firebombing of the SLA hideout 3 years before? Come to think of it,
there's a strange right-ward shift to the whole show beginning this
season. "White on White and Nearly Perfect" could be titled "White on
White and Nearly Zionist". Poor lil Israel); "Three-Day Affair"(could
they think of anymore nitwit "Arab" cliches, with of course no one
"Arab" played by any Arabic actor); "Black Mirror"; "Local Man Eaten";
"Nehru Jacket"(bottom of the barrel); "Battle Ax"; "Guilt"...
