We are about to get this in the UK, but it seems to feature Ed and
Lennie. Is it any different from the Mothership?

  OT: Slavery

Could someone explain how slavery in the US of A could
be even remotely constitutional?

I've never understood how it was allowed by the US
judicial system.

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect
union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the
common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings
of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish
this Constitution for the United States of America.

How does the above text even hint at allowing slavery?

I don't care who sold who into slavery, I don't see how
it was allowed inside the US of a borders.

  Lennie's Wife

I stand corrected. In response to David's query about the names of
Lennie's wives and his dating John Munch's ex, I said one of the wives
was shown in an episode when their daughter was buried and he said "I'll
see you at your mother's". The ep showed today "Monster" and he
actually said "I'll see you at your brother's".

He's my least favorite actor on L&O.

I always got the impression that he thought that he was too good to be
on the show and that he was only there biding his time waiting for
something better to come along.

Where is he now?

Saw a bit of that SVU ep today where that guy kept saying that over and
over.

Love that line! ;-)))

RL return of a RFTH story.

I recall that this story was used in an ep. Now it's back.

$54 Million 'Pants' Lawsuit Headed Back to Court
http://www.wjla.com/news/stories/0908/552285.html

"A three-judge appellate court panel has agreed to hear an appeal of
the case next month, more than a year after a judge ruled against the
plaintiff, former D.C. Administrative Law Judge Roy Pearson."

I doubt that many people were anticipating that an appellate court
would agree to hear this case, but now that it has happened... why the
sky is the limit. Who knows but that we might look forward to the
eventuality of another of Justice Scalia's scathing opinions, this
time on the subject of the 54 million dollar pants.

Satisfaction guaranteed.

Inscription on the NYC Court House?

The big Greco-Roman building with the columns; we often see it on L&O.

I don't think I knew there was an inscription on the entablature before.
But I was watching some movie this afternoon and noticed there was
writing but could not make it out.
