True but that doesn't mean he isn't still a national icon. I mean Yankee
fans still loved Babe Ruth even though he spent the last year of his
career with the Boston Braves (who would eventually become the Atlanta
Braves). Loyalties of someone beloved by the fans don't switch that fast
usually. The exception maybe is when the player goes to a team that they
out and out hate, like the Boston Red Sox's Roger Clemens to the Yankees.
