No Ordinary Family, a drama about a family who gain superpowers, has been
picked up to series by ABC. The cast includes Michael Chiklis as the
father, Julie Benz (Darla) as the mother, and Kay Panabaker (Wolfram &
Hart's Evil Little Girl in the White Room) as their daughter. (their son is
played by Jimmy Bennett, whose most notable genre connection is playing the
teen Kirk at the beginning of the new Star Trek movie).
According to various articles, the father will have superstrength, the
mother will have superspeed, the daughter will be a mind-reader, and the
son will have super-intelligence.

This is some good back-up to my opinion that more hot women
should be more naked more often. I think I'll make that the main
plank in my platform when I run for US president.

‘Dollhouse’ Halts Production Amid Creative Concerns
By Josef Adalian
Production has halted on the Joss Whedon drama “Dollhouse” amid
indications that some executives inside Fox are deeply concerned about
the creative direction of the series.
The last day of filming on “Dollhouse” was last Thursday, a spokesman
for the show’s studio, 20th Century Fox TV confirmed today. The show
will resume production on Sept. 25, he said.
Officially, 20th executives said the shutdown is designed to give Mr.
Whedon time to focus on getting the show’s scripts in better shape.
According to Zap2It.com, which first reported the shutdown, Mr.
Whedon’s decision to direct two of the first three episodes of the
series distracted him from focusing on the scripts.
A 20th spokesman indicated that Mr. Whedon simply wanted to make the
show better, and that because production on the series is ahead of
schedule, there would be no problem with the show premiering as
planned in January.

Sorry Eliza Dushku and Joss Whedon fans!
Looks like you might have to wait a bit longer to see their latest
collaboration, Dollhouse, on Fox.
Refresher, Dollhouse stars Eliza Dushku as a secret agent of sorts.
The agency she works for imprints memories and personalities into its
agents, who are then hired out. Though most agents are blissfully
unaware of their situation, Eliza's character comes to realize she's a
secret agent. The show's totally a hybrid of Alias and Bourne
Identity!
Anyway, Whedon, the genius behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel,
doesn't think the current Dollhouse scripts are good enough, so he's
shut down production for now, so he can do some re-writes.
Production is due to start up again in late September, as long as Joss
is happy with the scripts!
The good news is that the drama is a midseason entry.
If Dollhouse picks up production again at the end of the month,
they'll still be ahead of schedule.
