It's beginning to take on comic dimensions. It will however, have
some kind of effect on perceptions. Continuing with the comedy, think
of how many ways it can be spun. If David doesn't do well, or if he's
nervous, it can be perceived as "Minor torn away from his guardian on
show". If he does well, "Boy triumphs with new-found independence!"
It could end up being a win/win situation for David.
