Man, I'm really going out on a limb here, but WTF.
Did anyone else feel that Syesha was pandering to the black voters
with her twice mentioning the importance of the Cooke song with regard
to the 60's civil rights movement? Do you feel it was sincere or
calculated?
Flame away.

Sincerely calculated - my eyes rolled the first time she mentioned it,
and my dog barked and left the room at the second.

While she did mention it's relevance to the civil rights movement, she
also said that she did some research to find out the story behind the
song, which is the death of Cooke's kid and a song by Bob Dylan.
I don't think she was pandering to any specific group. I think she was
trying to say that she "felt" the true meaning of the song.

She didn't just play the race card, she threw the whole deck at us. I lost
a lot of respect for Syesha last night. She was my #2 pick after Jason, but
now if Jason goes I may have to grudgingly throw my support behind Cook.

It's a great story and a great song. Why shouldn't she be sincere?
