If they are licenced do carry concealed weapons by the state in which they
hold residence, then why not? A pistol concealed under a professor's jacket
isn't going to hurt anyone.

Then again, had the university put security at their buildings yesterday
after the first shootings, maybe they could have taken care of the situation
instead of leaving it to teachers to protect themselves.

Definitely do not require them. I've been involved in two violent incidents
in the classroom (not mine, thankfully, but in the same building), and
someone without the proper training could have made them worse than they
are.

Tasers, on the other hand, would work a treat, and we could use them on the
students.

How many kids in that class? 35? 50? I am not sure I did not keep
up with the story. If 1 or 2 kids out of those 35 or 50 were a
responsible gun carrying American they could have knocked that wacko
out before he killed more. Of course this is a hypothetical the ones
carrying the guns could have been killed first for all we know. But
college campuses are pretty strict as a rule about kids carrying guns
to class even CCW permit holders.
