Simon Said Age Will Be Lowered For 'Idol' Hopefuls

Author: Judy Haffner
Date: May 9, 2008 23:22

Friday, May 9 2008, 12:05 BST
By Beth Hilton, Entertainment Reporter

Simon Cowell has said the minimum age for American Idol contestants will
eventually be lowered to 14.

Speaking to girlfriend Teri Seymour on US show Extra, he said: "All
these shows, including Idol, in the future are going to have to go
younger. We're going to have to drop the age from 16 to 14 soon."

He also urged future hopefuls to turn on the waterworks to win votes,
saying: "[Crying] doesn't do you any harm when you're in a competition,
especially if you're a girl."
...................................

14 seems rather young?! Surprised that after all this hassle with young
David's dad, he wouldn't want to start the age limit at 18!

As far as the tears go, I guess he told Syesha to get a head start, and
get the "Boo-Hoo" part perfected before next season's sobbers are on the
show?! >;))

BTW, I noticed in your previous post you failed to address my calling
you on your blatant misrepresentation of what McCain actually said, in
spite of me providing you the information. Just so you don't forget,
here it is again.

(Micks self serving obfuscating drivel snipped)

*************************************************************************************

ROFLMAO

I guess critical reading skills werent taught at your school.

I responded with what McCains Iraq position IS, and how its different than Hillary and
Obama.

YOU are the one who became anal and posted McCains 100 year comment, while totally ignoring
his position on Iraq, and the fact that he STILL has no ezit strategy, and he STILL plans
on continuing the Bush position.

Just like flak jackets, and armored vehicles, your heart pumps shit.

Oh for Three Mick

Game, Set, Match

Now, go chat with Vandy, Rudd, and Moni, and leave the war stuff to the real men.

OK, Idol, it's time to disqualify David Archuleta.

Sorry, but when your people violate the music licensing agreements
Idol has made to the point where that becomes the tipping point of the
banishment of the dad, it's over.

Toss David Archuleta off the show.

Political Rankings Re-Do -- Season Seven, FINAL THREE

Author: starcade

Well, I have said for a number of weeks that the only thing keeping
David Archuleta from the title would be his father.

And, here it is, the Asshole Stage Dad From Hell has done it. He got
his ass banned from Star Search, and now he's done it again with Idol.

Front page story currently on TMZ.

Ladies and gentlemen, a first for the Political Rankings:

1) DAVID COOK

With Jeff Archuleta being banned, let's all remember that American
Idol is about control of the winner. They have been forced to ban
Jeff Archuleta from the backstage area, and that means he's not going
to let them have enough control.

David Archuleta is not going to win American Idol now -- shoot or
rigged, he's not going to win. His father has fucked it up, and he
should take all the blame.

The bettors are right, and so is Ron: Cook is now the producers'
choice.

And, Jeff Archuleta, go to Hell. Go straight to Hell. Do not pass
Go. Do not collect one penny.

Archie accompanied by his MOTHER in Las Vegas

For those who are paying attention to the Archie saga with his dad,
did you notice in the pictures from the Las Vegas trip last weekend
that it was his mom who was with him? I haven't seen the footage yet
from his trip home to Utah, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's his
mother with him there as well.

This is a great way to get rid of Jeff and still keep a legal guardian
with him for the rest of the show.

I'd say keep an eye out for him mom from here on out.

Archuleta's Dad Banished from "Idol"
Posted May 9th 2008 8:55PM by TMZ Staff, NTVLand

TMZ has learned David Archuleta's dad, Jeff, has been officially
banned from "American Idol."

Here's how it went down. "Idol" sources tell TMZ Jeff has been a
complete pain in the ass, interfering with the entire production. He
has badgered producers, the band, vocal coaches and even other
contestants. The final straw came this week, when Jeff wanted to
change the lyrics to David's first song, "Stand By Me." Jeff insisted
on adding a verse from Sean Kingston's hit, "Beautiful Girls."
Producers sent him an e-mail telling him the lyrics could not be
changed. They were beyond pissed when David sang the song with
Kingston's lyrics during the live show.

We're told by changing the lyrics, it created problems with the song's
publisher and cost "A.I." a lot of money.

Pen-

You're fairly musically savvy and have lived abroad a while. Do you
happen to have any CDs by a singer named Christopher Holland? He's
Jools' little brother and he recorded a few solo albums in between
subbing for his brother in Squeeze. I am looking for a 1999 CD of his
with a cover version of Todd Rundgren's I Saw the Light. I heard it
online and I cannot find it anywhere, to buy, borrow or steal.

Thanks!

It's called forward deployment. It's also called strategic presence. 60
years later, we're still in Europe; 60 years later, we still in Asia.
Until another Western superpower emerges to take over the duties,
American is going to have to have a presence in all those potential
theaters of operation, including the Middle East. Saudi Arabia is
getting increasing unstable (they've always been duplicitous), so Iraq
seems a reasonable, even sensible alternative.

The fuck you didnt. You equated Iraq to a forward deployment, which it might become,
but only AFTER completion of hostilities, dillweed.
