Well, when you're right, you're right. All I'm trying to say is that
hearing curse words by themselves, won't hurt kids, but hearing parents use
them and those parents allowing the kids to use them, will hurt the kids.

My Father used curse words... mostly just the minor ones- Shit, Piss,
Goddamn etc. They would never allow me to use those words, and I didn't
like it, but I respected it.... Then once I called my father an Idiot when I
was 11 years old... it was the first and second to last time he ever hit me,
and I deserved it both times. It's just as wrong to always hit your child
as it is to never hit your child.

Ideally, you would never have to hit a child.

In reality, in comes down to a question of what is appropriate in any
given situation. I admit that my wife and I sometimes hit our eldest
son but the youngest has never been hit. Laying down the ground rules
in advance is more effective than hitting a child because an abused
child is going to be more likely to rebel when he gets older.
