TARA2 Episode 5 spoilers

As expected after the last episode of TAR Asia, this leg of the race started
out with a plane flight that equalized all the teams. The start times were
a bit odd, (maybe the second to last team had some sort of penalty or maybe
the start time they had was a misprint?). In any case, the 4hour lead the
alpha males had was erased.

The flight took all 7 teams to Japan. So, who will get the negative edit
for this week? Apparently, the entire country of Japan. Japan is
definitely disliked by most of the cast.

Navy guy and his wife spent most of this leg of the race lagging behind. He
is a slow thinker and she is a non-thinker.

The first task with the camcorder was straight out of last season. Somehow,
I wonder if this season didn't kill the product placement, though, as 2
teams found the Sony handicam too complicated to operate. Funny, but not a
good 'infomercial'.

Also of note last week to this week. Editing last week made it appear
the first two teams were racing to find the mat at roughly the same
time. Departure times this week showed the two teams separated by 2
hours. Team gym buddies were actually closer time wise to the last
place team than the first place team.

Not a matter of finding it complicated: getting confused as to the run/pause
state of a camcorder is a very common mistake. I laughed because it's
such a familiar "d'oh!" moment.

And yes, the camcorder task was too familiar, but it did allow the
racers to interact with real people around them, and I really enjoy
tasks like that, so I am pretty forgiving.
