TAR 11.06 ratings

Without Simon Cowell's help, TAR went back to its typical ratings numbers--
the better one with little help of sports overrun. However, casual viewers
gained from last week's giant rat race might lose their interest because the
first 30 minutes of the show took place in the airports! According to Terry
and Ian on Early Show, it was really an anomaly. Because of an unexpected
religious migration, the airport in South Africa was stuffed with 10,000
passengers! CBS did downplay racers' frustration. Terry said at that time
many teams wanted to quit and just go home. Early Show repeated a footage in
that airport, I noticed that in the background lots of Muslims (women almost
covered their entire bodies) pointed to the camera laughing when Terry and
Ian talked to the camera that they wanted to fly...

I believe the 2006 Haj (Muslim religious pilgrimage to Mecca) was December
29th. Was that around the time that TAR was shooting? If so, they could
have forseen it coming, though I'm not sure there was any reason to do so.
I find it interesting when they have ticketing problems and have to get
creative.
