TAR12, Ep. 8: "Honestly, we're getting beat by nerds or something"

And another meaningless 10 minutes spent at the airport. Thank you,
TAR editors.

My only regret for this episode is not seeing Grandpa Gut do Yoga.
Just imagine our fave Gut twisting his nimble body into all sorts of
positions...excuse me...I gotta run to the bathroom.

Ah India, get ready for all the smells and breast grabbing...let's get
to the teams;

TK 'n the Bear
The Bear knows about flowers, go figure. Perhaps I should send her a
copy of the National Lampoon classic, "Lemmings", a wonderful send-up
of everything she 'n TK seem to stand for.

Oh Colorado is calling me...."Hey, YOU!!!"

Grandpa Gut 'n Wonderkid
You guys are sooooooooo Boring! You do everything right, you don't
argue, you don't freak out. How in the heck am I going to remember
anything you guys do if you keep doing things right?

Thanks for that mental scar.

Kynt & Vyxsin had good reason to believe Nate & Jen were ahead of them
(they left the detour ahead of them) and didn't want to waste the U-
turn. Of course if they had thought about it, they would have realized
that if Jen had made it there first they would certainly had been U-
Turned.

You hit upon the key word, "thought". How many times have we seen
teams make quick decisions when if they just stopped for a few seconds
to THINK...well, in the case of Kynt 'n Vyxsin it may not made any
difference.

IIRC, this isn't the first time that teams have encountered delays at
Paris airport--it's a notorious bottleneck. So is London's Heathrow
airport, another one that has caused delays in past legs of TAR. If I
were running the Amazing Race, I would avoid booking flights that
connect through heavily bottlenecked airports if possible. (It often
pays to take a slightly later flight that does not connect through
Heathrow, since you're invariably delayed there anyway.) I've never
seen teams on TAR do that though.

The bad-tempered Daddy would have been in real pain too, with his hernia.

Their mistake grew out of a bad habit that most teams are afflicted
with, they rush through decisions at the cluebox.
