Exactly. It's being conformist in how you express your 'non-conformity'.
Goths tend to looks as much alike as any other social group.
I've found by experience that subcultures have as many 'rules' about how to
look like and be a member of that subculture as the 'mainstream' does.
Sometimes even more.
