In this case I don't see what he would be gaining by bullshitting so much.
Also, it seems like that most of the time Amber calls him on such things.
Not to mention that giving up so quickly would be uncharacteristic for him.
Do you recall (if it was ever stated) how long he waited during the meat
eating contest in TAR 7 before proposing they give up and take the 4 hour
penalty?
