Probably the worst reality show ever aired on networks. The structure of The
Mole prevents the audience from building a connection with the contestants,
which is an essential part of any reality TV. The Mole will lose a chunk of
the small audience who sampled the revamped series when the 2nd episode is
aired. I predict the ratings will shrink to below 5 million viewers. ABC has
no choice but cancel The Mole for good. Or get around the problem by only
using celebrities as contestants.
The first season is a miracle thanks to the charming host Anderson Cooper
and a terrific mole Catharine. The success of The Mole depends on casting
too much. You need perfect contestants which can build instant connection
with the audience, which is almost impossible. Also a huge mistake. Most of
the first episode took place at night. When the audience can hardly see
anything, they won't tune in the next time.

I guess you feel like most viewers are unable to enjoy a show on any level
other than an emotional one. It is a very intelligent show, and the fun in
watching it is in using your brains. I suspect the lack of eye candy in
bikinis may be the real problem. You may be right with your prediction, but
I sincerely hope not.

It is as exciting as watching people solve a mathematic problem or Sudoku
puzzle. No doubt there are intelligent people who like this sort of
programs, but they are super minority.
Now I got last night's ratings numbers. Since the first episode only lured
4.73 million viewers, it is safe to say that number will shrink to below 4
million next week.

Ar Q tries to imitate big brother WQ. Not very effectively.

Nicole is nothing more than an Omarosa wannabe. Whether that is her choice
or that of the producers is the question. Wanna bet that she lasts far into
the competition? "The Mole" has its "executed" contestant more easily "fixed"
than BB or Survivor, yet no cries of conspiracy are heard...yet.

Next week, no NHL game and "CSI: Miami" is a repeat.
