Attention Food Lovers!!!

Are you are a connoisseur, critic, chef, aficionado, restaurant owner or are just
in a serious love affair with food?

The Food Network is currently casting foodies of all kinds in the Los Angeles area
to be a part of a fun and exciting new TV series!

The show focuses on two teams who race through many of LA’s culinary hot spots
competing in challenges in the ultimate chowhound smack down!

It’s an AMAZING “food-adventure” RACE! [Emphasis mine. I smell a lawsuit...]

We are looking for high-energy, dynamic and competitive two-member teams (husband &
wife, parent and child, two good friends, two co-workers, etc.) who are 25-45 and
have some connection, knowledge or experience in the food industry.

Who thought fighting for your next meal could be so fun?

--
It is simply breathtaking to watch the glee and abandon with which
the liberal media and the Angry Left have been attempting to turn
our military victory in Iraq into a second Vietnam quagmire. Too bad
for them, it's failing.

Ageism. I started learning to cook at 17 and am now over 50, but my enthusiasm
is still growing.

For sure. I'm older than you. OTOH, I don't know if I could actually
"race" through any city, let alone LA. I think the FN is desperate,
for a popular show. Just look at all the travel/food shows they have
already!

I agree. I don't know why they didn't just put out a casting call at
all the modeling agencies...oh wait...models don't eat, do they?

"Today we are going to make a plate full of lettuce and carrot sticks.
And don't forget on tomorrow's show we're going to a make a plate full
of watercress and celery sticks."

I don't know what they do for the other 25 minutes of the show, or for
day 3.

The best part of that - with the exception of the lion I've eaten in
various restaurants in the U.S. that cumulatively have had all that
stuff on the menu. I've had most of them. One they missed that I've
had: kangaroo.

"Tastes like chicken."

They're now putting more emphasis on the "Amazing Race" part in this
article:
>Eating race is on at Food Network

Mon Aug 18, 2008 1:29am EDT

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - The Food Network is getting into
the competitive eating genre with a new series, tentatively titled
"Eat the Clock."

The show is described as a cross between an eating competition and
"The Amazing Race." Two teams of contestants rush to various Los
Angeles eateries and gorge themselves in face-stuffing challenges.

Competitive eating vaguely resembled a trend on cable television
during the past year, with G4's new scarf-'til-you-puke show "Hurl"
and Spike TV airing a series of Major League Eating events. ESPN also
airs competitive eating events like Nathan's Famous Fourth of July
International Hot Dog Eating Contest.
