Since the show's going to be on the US East Coast in less than an hour,
I'm going to just cover the main points:

1) Ruthie and T-Bone get into an argument about who's suppose to cover
the first draft on a joint project they've been assigned on Darfur.
Complicating matters is that they're covering the subject from
different angles. T-Bone thinks the US has done more than its fair
share to help out the situation, for instance; while Ruthie says it
hasn't done enough. Jane and Margaret also get into the debate, with
Jane taking Ruthie's side and Margaret taking T-Bone's. Jane, however,
is not sure that it is genocide while Margaret insist that it is.

To complicate matters, Ruthie tried to get her Sunday school class to
do something about Darfur but this was vetoed by the deacons who say
that it's too "political" and they don't want to be seen taking sides.
Later on, Kevin points out to Jane and Margaret that the battle in
Darfur is not between Christians and Muslims but rival Muslim factions,
although Christians are caught up in the crossfire. T-Bone and Ruthie
eventually agree the best they can do is report on the situation and
donate some of their savings, but they need to research charities to
make sure the money is going to aid and not just administration.

I'm sure Jer is totally geeked that a new 7th H will be on tonite.

I don't know which side is more pathetic. The socially-inept geeks, or
the "I use my looks, not my brains" beauties.

Last week's loser, the girl with the big cleavage, was a real dish.
SHE didn't know what she was doing in the library. SHE was the one who
failed to read & understand the book for the important interview. SHE
deserves the blame for their losing the final match, but instead of
accepting responsibility for her actions, she's chewing out the poor
helpless geek.

Heh. Can't wait to see tonight's episode.

I enjoyed the season 3 rapist story, and so during the christmas break
I bought the DVDs of Veronica Mars season 1 and 2.

YAWN.

What an incredibly dull show. Season 1 started good, but then wandered
off into lame, juvenile "who stole the mascot"-type high school
stories. Which would be okay if they were GOOD stories, but no,
instead they often turned to Teen Soap and other nonsense. Yuck.

Bottom Line: I enjoyed episodes 101/120/121/122. That's about it.

Season 2 - I'm not sure what happened here. I was enjoying the
elimination of the stupid single-episode stories, and the focus on the
MAIN plotline, but then about halfway through the season I found myself
scratching my head...... and I suspect the writers did too. The
ongoing plot was not making any sense, and the final resolution did not
make any sense either.

It felt like Buffy Season 7- only worse.

SEASON 3 == I'm happy they switched to the shorter 8-9 episode
mysteries. They make more sense, and overall are far more satisfying
to watch a short 6-hour mystery. I'm looking forward to see Mystery
3-2 in February and Mystery 3-3 in May!
