You think I'm a Bush apologist? You are pathetic.
The convictions were for rigging the recount. Those convicted were
supposed to pick ballots at random, which might have shown a problem with
the machine count. Instead they hand-picked ballots that they knew
wouldn't show any discrepancy.

Wife of Greeley police officer shot, killed; wife of sheriff department
worker suspected
By Vanessa Delgado and and Joanna Larez,
January 24, 2007
Greeley and Weld County law enforcement agencies were inextricably tied in a
murder investigation Tuesday that started after a Greeley police officer's
wife was fatally shot, and the wife of a sheriff's employee was arrested.
The shooting happened at 6:15 p.m. outside the Colorado State Employees
Credit Union, 2505 11th Ave., as Heather Garraus, 37, of Greeley was leaving
work.
Garraus, a longtime employee at the credit union, was found on the ground in
the parking lot at the tail end of several parked cars. She was taken to
North Colorado Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 6:45 p.m.
The suspected shooter, a 38-year-old woman of Greeley, whose name was not
released, was arrested later by police while she was driving on 20th Street
in a different part of town. She was taken to the Weld County Jail.
"Right now, we are investigating the relationship between the shooter and
the victim," said Sgt. Joe Tymkowych with Greeley police.

White ex-deputy pleads not guilty in 1964 killings of 2 black men in US
The Associated Press
Thursday, January 25, 2007
JACKSON, Mississippi
A reputed Ku Klux Klansman and former sheriff's deputy accused in the 1964
slayings of two black men pleaded not guilty, and in a measure of how things
have changed across the American South, the judge he stood before was a
black woman.
With his wrists and ankles shackled, 71-year-old James Ford Seale on
Thursday repeatedly addressed the judge as "ma'am," a social courtesy whites
typically denied to blacks in Mississippi 43 years ago.
Seale was arrested Wednesday on federal charges of kidnapping and
conspiracy. Prosecutors said Charles Eddie Moore and Henry Hezekiah Dee,
both 19, were seized and beaten by Klansmen, then thrown into the
Mississippi River to drown.
A second white man long suspected in the attack, reputed KKK member Charles
Marcus Edwards, 72, has not been charged. People close to the investigation
who spoke on condition of anonymity said Edwards was cooperating with
authorities.

A 16-year-old receptionist in Laishide Hotel in Dazhu County, Sichuan
Province was suspected to have been raped and killed by three local
officials on December 29, 2006. The girl's tragic death drew the sympathy of
many people. The authorities' protection of the suspected officials provoked
public anger. On the afternoon of January 17, tens of thousands of people
gathered on Xinhua Square of Dazhu County to protest the authorities'
behavior. The authorities mobilized thousands of police to use high-pressure
water canons to suppress the protesters.
Sound of Hope reporter interviewed Huang Qi, a Sichuan human rights worker,
about this incident.
Huang Qi believes that the CCP has had too many human rights violations, and
the protest is a symptom of accumulated anger and dissatisfaction from
people.
