Err,you might want to rephrase that sligthly as just about everyone you
mention abovre would have to have some "skill",whether it is with the pick
and shovel as a salt miner or with the tongue as a salt trader.

Unless God really did just say "Awake you are one of my chosen, here is
10,000 gold coins/1,000 ton of salt", that gold/salt has to come
from someone/somewhere

BTW, Gold/capital by itself isn't enough. The holder also needs skills to
keep the god/capital and skills to use it.

Wouldn't that be "some valuable thngs may still be valuable"?

I can think of a lot of "art" that would become firewood, scrap metal and
road fill value very quickly.

Wow! Veggie oil! That's real inexpensive right now. Only about 3X
the cost of petrol.

And if it takes petrol to grow the veggies and petrol to get the
veggies to the plant, and petrol to turn the veggies into oil, and
petrol to distribute the veggie oil... how much cheaper do you think
veggie oil is going to become in the future?

Aah, you also need information and a bit of knowledge. Landsat was
basically established to provide information to commodities traders. the
question is whether you can afford it.

Yep, when things get desperate aka post batteries, etc.

but going ultra moderen, what is the legalities and practicalities of
using CD to transmit images/data in the USA.

the problem with voice is that someone has to be on guard, watching and
ableto raise the alarm, whereas some "remote cameras" could be a useful
addition.

At one stage here a couple of years ago it was only 1.5x price of diesel,
but now is is 3x as well.
