I just said goodbye to a bunch of extra kids who were here for a while
as "emergency care"
having our population in the house doubled for a while ate a serious
hole in our budget as well as our food stocks , itll be fixed soon
enough tho , but it got me wondering , who actually allows for extras to
stay ?
In Africa , there are entire villages of children , AIDS orphans , with
maybe only a couple adults to look after them if they are lucky .
It could happen here ... who allows room in their home / survial preps
for extra people as kids / friends / folk who just need a hand up for a
while ?
What kind of plans do you have ?
Just curious , since I seen a few "if any thinks Im gunna help is gunna
get a shock" kinda posts at times

Good point, the only extras I admit to planning for would be the Brother in
law and his wife, mainly extra grub I stock for them because they have most
of the other consumables such as camping/ hiking/ survival kit, but only
last night I realised that to play safe I could do with doubling the amount
of diesel I cache to cover his transport needs.
BTW on Sky news today they are forcasting a

on ebay there is some ood stuff for swapping to veg oil , 6 port fuel
solinoids , glowplug heaters , hot pads for tanks , filters etc ... all
there and the best stuff comes from the UK anyway cos they got to deal
with cold and cold is the biggest issue ..
I filled the bus with fuel tonight , $1.70 a litre bit of a sting after
brewing my own for a while :) reality bites ..

Man, now that's getting down to the rubber meeting the road!
People tend to cooperate in natural disasters, etc. where everybody is
in the same leaky boat.

It is *my* labor and *my* preparations for *me* and *my* family that will
allow *us* to survive hard times.
Others will have to fend for themselves pure and simple. Will I short
myself or my family so that a stranger can live? No way. At least not for
the difficult first stages of transition in whatever form it takes. Later
when the dust settles and things begin to normalize there will be much need
for charity work.
In the first difficult days hard and fast decisions will have to be made.

Was this blitz also the reason for the increase in your population?

True enough most of the time and they are generally teachable once out
from under outside influences, if any.
