OT: Teaching my nephew...

...to play guitar, that is.
Godnose I'm no role model for anything else.
The kid's hung on Metallica and that kind of scene. Can't use it, myself...
I like more melody and rhythm.
So, I'm teaching him elementary major, minor and 7th chords, and the simple
I - IV - V blues progression.
With these-- the simplest possible tools-- he can play about... eighty
zillion songs.

I'm picking random tunes from my hard drive that feature no more than 3 or 4
chords, tops, so he doesn't have to labor too hard trying to make the
changes. One of the ones I selected-- I'm trying to pick a variety of things
that either outright rock or growl a little; SPIDER AND THE FLY and THE
WORST from the Stones; KEY TO THE HIGHWAY and HOW LONG BLUES from Clapton's
"From the Cradle" album; I GOT LOADED from Los Lobos, etc., etc...-- was
STEVE McQUEEN, by Sheryl Crow.

Instead of taking 45 puffs of smoke, Jef. spoketh upon us:
