What I didn't like about "the violence" was that everybody seemed to think the dissociation was
an excuse for the violence. "Hey, I held a knife... But, I'm not really to blame, I'm not a
criminal, I have an excuse because I have DID." That's just wrong.
I admire him in a lot of ways, not just for what he's accomplished in his life but his courage
in coming out. And I really appreciate it when any famous person comes out because it helps
mainstream the rest of us. Even when the press handles it badly.
But he has a violent alter == he's violent == he's wrong, and responsible. Being DID is a part
of it but in no way an extenuating part.
Wow. Don't I sound self righteous!
Thank you, betsy, for posting about the interview. I would have missed it otherwise.
