"Russert had been recording voiceovers for this Sunday's "Meet The

sudden coronary thrombosis. Resuscitation was begun immediately and
continued at Sibley Memorial Hospital, to no avail.
Newman said an autopsy showed that Russert had an enlarged heart, NBC
reported. Russert had been diagnosed with asymptomatic coronary artery
disease, which he was controlling with medication and exercise, the
doctor said."

Very sad news..i work in the biz and when the AP wire buzzed and saw the
news it was like a punch to the gut.
I respected him because he was passionat and fair minded and truely loved
what he did.

Just a few minutes ago on CNN, they said that Russert's autopsy showed
he died from a ruptured artery caused by a build-up of cholesterol.
Let's take Russert's utimely death as a reminder of how important it is
to get regular physicals and keep our blood pressure and cholesterol
levels in check. He will be missed!
Charlie Rose did a wonderful eulogy for Tim Russert last night on TV.

I don't understand how they got the autopsy done so fast -- in DC!!!!!
I was hearing the news about it before I would have thought that the body
could have been transported anywhere.
I don't think they do *homicide* autopsies that fast here. If there was no
suspicion of foul plan or public health issues, what sped things up so?
Why even have an autopsy? I don't think it's usual
-- *lots* of people
die & don't get autopsied.
Maybe because of celebrity?

I would suppose. All the news going on, floods, major fires in CA,
major earthquake in Japan, and they choose to go mostly around the
clock with that story on the news channels. Don't get me wrong, I very
much enjoyed Tim Russert, I think some kind of tribute was fitting,
but really... It just goes to show how the news moves things the way
they want them to go and then decides what the "event of the moment"
is.
