It is particularly sad when people who have contributed so much to society,
and who have had still so much to contribute, have to leave us prematurely.
He was foremost in the subject of nutrition; that and being a very practical
and nice guy in general. I have archived emails almost from the day he
started posting. I will treasure these.
After years of suffering he is at peace.

"During regular soft drinks consumption, fat accumulates in the
liver by the primary effect of fructose which increases
lipogenesis, and in the case of diet soft drinks, by the
additional contribution of aspartame sweetener and
caramel colorant which are rich in advanced glycation end
products that potentially increase insulin resistance and
inflammation." 2010.06.07
"From our study, it seems that fructose is not the only risk
factor of liver disease, because 40%% of our cohort were
drinking Diet Coke sweetened with aspartame.

Hello. I am a researcher at the University of Alabama at Birmingham
and am conducting a study to determine the impact online support
groups have in empowering people to understand and control diabetes or
to help others in their fight against diabetes. Please consider
taking a moment to complete the anonymous survey located at
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5J6ZC36. Your feedback is critical to
the success of online support groups such as this one and can go a
long way in helping to understand how to support those that are coping
with this terrible disease. Thank you for your time.

And unfortunately, the ones screaming the loudest about me, the rude, crude
and socially unacceptable Christian, are the ones that claim to be the most
tolerant and or want to force me to accept things ... which is blatant
intolerance.

No, Kurt, I do not think I could change a single opinion or belief and it
doesn't matter, to me, if there was a change.
As for the "dogpile" situation, as a Christian, I see it happening more and
more and the "pilers" know less and less about what they're attacking, so,
the chances are even smaller than you think they would be succesful.
