I don't agree with that conclusion because I take LOTS of meds but I
consider myself to be a very spiritual person. Acting happy is not
the same as truly experiencing the emotion.

I just started a new group to narrow things down a little. Many
bipolar people are schizophrenic as well. Please feel free to join.

Thanks,

Erik

HELL'S BELLS, i don't want anyone to know who i am.

a schizoaffective person can be different from a schizophrenic person,
in terms of negative symptoms. Bipolars can have sz symptoms. I do.

  doing research for a book

Author: Broken Promise

I've developed an interest in writing a book about motivation for people
with so-called "negative symptoms." The term applies to schizoaffectives
more than to unipolar depressives or the bipolar, but I thought I'd pop in
here to see if anyone wishes to comment.

The first thing I need to know is whether this is a new idea or whether it's
already been done to death. As a scheezer I am constantly confronted with
"pull yourself up by your bootstraps," which strikes me as a primitive
response mostly indicating that someone doesn't give a s***. But medications
also don't seem to help with the leaden-assedness I've often experienced. I
want to focus on the issue of motivating people to improve their lives when
they do experience the old leaden ass either from negative symptoms of
mental illness or from medication side-effects. If someone has already
developed a magic formula to do this, please let me know so I can kill my
writing project and go buy a bottle of the formula.

The second thing I'm asking for is your personal stories about how you have
succeeded or failed in motivating yourselves to do beneficial things. If I
use your stories in the book you will be given proper attribution.

The email address I use on this account works, so feel free to reply
privately.

  Kill depression: An Ayurvedic way

Author: Ayurveda Healer

Man is a living gadget, who always seeks for the happiness. Happiness
is the urge for which man made all the machines and these sky scrapper
buildings. Man developed all the comforts and luxuries to remain
happy. Man has developed all but today he is missing only one thing
that is his happiness. Today we are facing the maximum problems with
the depression, anxiety and sorrows. Were we headed towards these? Not
really!! But we couldn't define with our selves what is happiness and
what can bring happiness for us. Man always thought that happiness
stays in the big machines and mechanical comforts. This was the reason
why he developed all this. But happiness is something else!

Happiness is a psychological phenomenon not a bodily feeling. And we
never tried to find happiness in the mind and related parts? This is
the biggest reason that even after being too much potent we are
helpless today to enjoy the feeling of happiness.

See the butterflies, birds and animals, they don't possess much
materialistic heights, even then they are happy than us. They can
enjoy what they have. See a small sparrow, she can sleep anywhere, and
man......................... To know more click:

I’m writing a book on the relationship between depression and procrastination.

From my own personal experience and those of others, I’ve noticed that
the average psychiatrist, doctor, GP, mental health worker, etc. seem
to classify procrastination as a symptom of depression. However, I
have a different take on it.

I believe that procrastination is a major cause of depression. In my
research I’ve interviewed countless individuals and I have only found
one person who aid that she was aware she procrastinated but that it
did not bother her. For the rest, the majority, those individuals
felt horrified that they wasted valuable time doing anything but what
they really needed to.

Countess hours were spent watching television while their household
duties went astray. Dirty dishes piled high a sink clogged with
smelly water containing the decaying remains of food. Stacks of
newspapers awaited being set out for pick-up for days and weeks upon
end. The list of undone chores goes on and on.

It's pretty well established that those with bipolar disorder tend to
be a lot smarter, and/or more creative, than most people. We
especially tend to have certain mental aptitudes, such as an intuitive
sense that makes it easy to read people, see the basic idea of things,
etc.
